Elizabeth City, North Carolina is the scene of a riot watch, as a man in a car was reportedly shot and killed by police on Wednesday.
A Pasquotank County sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina reportedly shot a father of 10 children, according to news outlet WAVY-TV.
The officers were executing a search warrant at 8:30 a.m. when the shooting occurred. The man was identified as 40-year-old Andrew Brown. WAVY reports that he was in his car trying to drive away from the scene. Half a dozen shots were fired, according to neighbors.
Brown was laying on the ground for almost four hours, according to reports, further inflaming tensions. A crowd gathered on the scene to shout at the police officers. (Caution: Graphic language.)
